Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 30-year-old female. I had a friend who was healthy all the time.
A few months ago, she had stomach pain, and then follow-ups showed she had stage 4 adenocarcinoma. She passed away.
I am traumatized by that incident. How do I believe that a very healthy person suddenly gets diagnosed with such an illness?
Ever since I heard of her, I have been worried that one day, I will get any of those diseases. How do I know I am not having any of those conditions? I am having PCOS, and can this be a predisposing factor?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern. Cancer screening is a very helpful tool to know about any risks, including metastatic adenocarcinoma.
I would suggest you undergo cancer screening if you have any predisposing factors or any family history of cancer.
Excess weight, bad dietary habits, a sedentary lifestyle, and comorbid conditions are a few predisposing factors.
I hope you find this helpful.
Feel free to get back to me for more queries.
Thank you.
