Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am an 18-year-old unmarried girl, and I am overweight. My menstrual cycle used to be regular with no problems, and my weight has not affected it since puberty. Now I have prolonged bleeding with hormonal imbalance issues. I have been bleeding heavily for a whole year without any stop. I am extremely stressed and going through a tough period in my life. Some doctors have confirmed that this may be the reason for this heavy bleeding. I took some medication but to no avail. I took Tranexamic and Mefenamic acids, each at a dosage of 500 mg.

Kindly help.

Hello,

I appreciate that you have chosen icliniq.com for your medical needs.

I am here to give you the best care possible.

Persistent heavy bleeding for a year can indeed be distressing and impact your overall well-being. Stress and emotional turmoil can indeed affect hormonal balance and menstrual cycles. It is positive that you have consulted doctors and tried medications like Tranexamic acid and Mefenamic acid. However, if these treatments have not provided relief, it is essential to seek further medical attention. A gynecologist or an endocrinologist can perform a thorough examination, possibly including hormone level checks, ultrasounds, or other tests to identify the underlying cause of the prolonged bleeding. In addition to medical intervention, managing stress through relaxation techniques, mindfulness, exercise, and a balanced diet might contribute positively to your hormonal balance.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.

Thank you.
