Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am suffering from external hemorrhoids. How much quantity of Nux Vomica should I take and in which form? Liquid or powder?

Answered by Dr. Albana Greca

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

External hemorrhoids should be treated through:

  1. Implementing a good bowel habit correcting constipation.
  2. Local ointment to restore the damaged mucosa.

Constipation is treated through an increase of fluids, fiber intake, use of laxatives, use of rectal enemas and go to the bathroom each time you feel the need, do not delay.

Nux Vomica (Strychnine, Brucine) is used as a laxative. You should see the label instruction for specific use. 30 drops a day divided in three doses with 10 drops each time until symptoms improve. The instructions are given for liquid Nux Vomica. You can take masticable tablets (not more than three per day).

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
