How can hemorrhoids be treated?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 47-year-old female. I have hemorrhoids that are really causing me to pain these days. Can you suggest to me any over-the-counter creams or medications? Do I really need to see a doctor?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If it is external hemorrhoid or if thrombosed or thrombophlebitis, it may cause pain. Eat a high-fiber diet. Avoid spicy food and alcohol. Do regular exercise and drink plenty of water. Use syrup Lactulose 30 ml at night.

If symptoms have not improved, please consult your physician. He will examine you locally to know whether it is a fissure or internal or external hemorrhoids and treat you accordingly.
