Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 35 weeks pregnant. My baby is getting too many hiccups in a day. Three to four times and for more than 10 minutes. What could be the reason?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I have reviewed your query. Have one scan to check for any abnormal issue with cord insertion, knot in the cord, or any other issue. Also, have one CTG (cardiotocography) as well to check the fetal well-being to be on the safe side.

  1. Have a healthy diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and water.
  2. Avoid constipation.
  3. Have cold drinks as you feel hiccups.
  4. Try to have more than normal water to avoid urine infection or any other health issues.
  5. Collect the scan report and discuss it here.
  6. In case of reduced fetal movements, bleeding, or labor pain report to the tertiary care emergency department.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
