Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I got a big, almost boil-like bumps on my groin, armpit, and butt area, but mostly in the groin that burst and drain and then turn into open sores. I forgot to mention that they leave spaces or like craters almost underneath my skin. When they finally heal, I have been tested for STDs, culture, and herpes test too many times. I have done a culture test, which rules out staphylococcus infection, etc. No doctor could tell me what was wrong. A doctor said to me that I had hidradenitis suppurativa, but I was never officially diagnosed. The bumps keep getting worse in frequency and pain level. I have prescribed an anti-inflammatory that did not help, and it is becoming an interruption in my life. When they pop up, it makes me hard to wash, walk, and get dressed. I am so tired of this, and I need to know the reasons for this.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please do not squeeze or scratch your skin at these areas, but be delicate during washing and drying it. I advise the following treatment. Take Capsule Duracef (Cefadroxil) 500 mg orally one capsule every eight hours for one week. Use Mupirocin 2% (cream) topically three times daily for the same period. Take Capsule Indomethacin 25 mg orally twice daily during meals for the same period. Please follow the instructions mentioned above and medications, and it is going to be alright. Simultaneously, considering it as test therapy, we will ask for a more sophisticated investigation to prove a diagnosis like hidradenitis suppurativa or any other diagnosis if it fails.
