Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had high lymphocytes in my blood reports that I got tested in a gap of six days. I am worried if I am suffering from blood cancer and during these tests i had no fever or cold. Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

The rise in the levels of lymphocytes can be post-viral infection, chronic infection, or some inflammation.

As you are asymptomatic with no fever, I would like to know if you have any weight loss or palpable lymph nodes in the neck, underarms, or groin. If the answer is a no, there is nothing to worry about blood cancer.

You can repeat the test after 15 days, and if the lymphocyte number is increasing, then do a peripheral blood smear test and viral markers.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hii doc,I just got my report.did the CBC test and told them to do Peripherical blood smear but they said it will show in ERC test only so I did that ... lymphocytes have increased by 8% .. report attached below and also to mention I have a very hard bone like structure growing behind my ear ,in 2021 it was small ,now it's very hard sometimes it pains but i got fever ,no weight loss
it has not much increased , your lymphocytes are increased mildly , lymphocyte number fluctuates on daily basis . your ECR is within normal limits , just repeat peripheral blood smear and cbc after 2 weeks peripheral smear can show any kind of abnormal lymphocytes or blood cells .I am sure it will be normal Regarding behind the ear condition It is common especially in childhood to have infection of bone behind the ear , this condition is called mastoiditis .The condition responds well to antibiotics. You can visit an ENT specialist for that because sometimes it can be associated with some collection

Patient's Query

But doctor my lymphocytes count was 53% of 20-50 reading on 22nd August, Than on 28th August it was 52% of 28-48% reading means 4 % up than now after 4 months it's up by 8 % ..its just going up ....I have anxiety, stress .....but I'm healthy.... Also my neutrophils is low
because there may be some ongoing silent infection , which in acute conditions should subside in 2 weeks , so if you repeat tomorrow it may be up again they have no clinical significe , if on peripheral smear they are normal lymphocytes and not abnormal I see daily patients with high lymphocytes counts post viral infection

Patient's Query

Okay doctor I'll get back to u after 2 weeks and yes here is one more report of my urine test n blood test done on 31st August for Lic.this report was after those other tests done vch were on 22nd aug and 28aug which I have sent to you
both these tests are normal including urine. test, nothing to worry , your lymphocyte count is mildly increased with no clinical symptoms and no proven abnormal lymphocytes on peripheral smear just repeat after 2 weeks

Patient's Query

Ok doctor my last query for today ,vch is the peripheral smear test on my reports ?? I mean the ones vch I have sent now .Can u plz tel me
the peripheral test sent by you does not show any abnormality, but they have not done it properly , It needs to be repeated and complete details should be mentioned in the reports like any abnormal white Blood cells , differential counts , platelets and RBC abnormalities

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
