Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My younger brother, who is 27 years old, is taking medication for HIV. He is on antiretroviral therapy (ART), but I have heard about injectable treatments for HIV now. Are these injections more effective in keeping the viral load undetectable? He is doing well with his current HIV therapy, but I would like to know if these new long-acting HIV medications could offer additional benefits. Do they reduce the chances of the virus reappearing? I have read about recent innovations in HIV treatment, and I am curious if these injectable treatments would enhance his viral suppression.
Kindly help.
