Which test can accurately confirm HIV infection?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I think I may have contracted HIV, which might have spread through rubbing my naked penis on the bed in a lodge that contained a black color fluid and some women's hair. After 15 days of this incident, I have cold and cough symptoms and a mouth ulcer. I also have scars on my penis. This scar is itching, and I have swollen lymph nodes and a rapid heartbeat. I went to a hospital for blood tests, and they tested using a solid needle for blood tests. Could I have HIV? I have not had sex before with any women. I have had gastritis for the last six which causes upper back pain, lower back pain, and right lower abdomen pain. My stomach is burning. What is the cause of my problems? Is it anxiety and stress? I had tried the TRI-DOT test, and it was non-reactive.

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) does not spread this way, and you have also cleared your mind by testing yourself. It is better to forget it now. You may have anxiety, which is causing acidity. Relax yourself. Things will be easy if you take it easy. Needles used these days are disposable and fresh, so there is no chance of HIV transmission from them. I suggest you take some anxiolytics, and if you are worried now, then repeat your tests for HIV and syphilis through PCR (polymerase chain reaction). It will make you confident that you do not have any disease.

Make your immunity strong and also improve your diet. You must take vitamin C and fruit. Add meat and milk to your diet, as they will improve your immunity. You will not be prone to infection. Another thing you can do is to take multivitamins and iron supplements, which will improve your immunity, and you will not remain sick. Do regular exercise and consult a psychotherapist for counseling that will help you to live a normal life. Send me your HIV reports and I will be able to help you out further.

I hope this information helps you.

Revert in case of queries.

Regards.
