Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 45-year-old woman who has been experiencing persistent hives and has explored various treatment options but it does come back. I have an absolutely clear medical history and am not under any medication. Do you think acupuncture might help? I have heard it is really beneficial. How helpful would acupuncture be as part of a pain management strategy? Additionally, should I be aware of any specific factors or precautions before pursuing acupuncture for this purpose? Please suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Regarding your symptoms of persistent hive and questions about acupuncture, acupuncture involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the skin. it is a Chinese traditional medicine. It aims to restore balance within the body and encourage it to heal by releasing natural pain-relieving compounds (endorphins) that help to reduce painful episodes in the body system. Acupuncture will be very helpful in controlling your pains if medications fail and there are no side effects associated with it so far. Therefore no precautions should be taken.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
