Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am in my mid-twenties. For the past week, I have been experiencing hot flashes and recently mood swings too.

I am also in my fertile window.

I had one pregnancy with an emergency cesarian section.

I also have a history of migraines and I have been diagnosed with arthritis.

I am also a smoker.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

With a history of arthritis, did you previously have a miscarriage?

Have you visited an immunologist before?

If you have not then, I suggest consulting an immunologist in person.

With arthritis, the symptoms of hot flashes can be associated with a thyroid function abnormality so a thyroid function test (blood test) needs to be done.

Also, your doctor should examine the thyroid gland in person and, if needed he might suggest an ultrasound of the same and some additional blood tests to rule out any other autoimmune cause.

Depending on the test results, he will guide you with appropriate management.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to contact me for any other queries in the future.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
