Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I think I have a micro-perforated hymen. I have just taken photos of my hymen and it appears to have a micro-perforation as I can notice a small hole and the hymen is bulging out. However, I have noticed a couple of differences that may not be considered while identifying a micro perforated hymen.
There never seemed to be any problems related to menstrual cycle and bleeding. When I started getting my periods, it was difficult to use tampons, as it felt like I was hitting a soft piece of skin during insertion. When I had to use them many times during dance competitions, my mother forced them inside and she felt a lot of resistance. It hurt a bit and I could feel the tampons in me the whole time, even though I was using the smallest type. It was particularly painful to take them out even though I was slow and gentle. I tried inserting a couple of fingers inside, after being sexually turned on with success, but I definitely have to move past and stretch the hymen to do so. It was initially impossible to insert a larger dildo, but I managed as I gradually increased the size of the dildos I used. However, the longer I go without using them, the harder it gets and it can sting a little bit no matter what.
When I was born, no abnormalities to the hymen were detected, but the doctor detected a slightly soft skull and an unusual curve to one side of the skull. I do not recall any injury or infection to the hymen or vulva, but I did not tend to respond to pain or express much emotion as a young child, even in circumstances where I was hit quite hard. I also recall experiencing pleasure from physical pain at the age of three to four, so maybe I would find hymenal tearing or discomfort insignificant enough not to express pain or talk about if it did happen at some point. I did get chickenpox in almost every region, including around the private area, although I am not sure if any were present close to the hymen.
I also used to masturbate to the point of orgasm every other day between the ages of about three to five years. I have a feeling that the hymen could have thickened since it is often developing at that age and maybe the orgasms were powerful and frequent enough to close up the hole a bit, but does that occur? Following are certain concerns about my hymen.
Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The perforation in the hymen seems to occur due to friction injuries during masturbation and strenuous exercises.
I would like to know the answers to the following questions.
Kindly provide the details to help you with the best advise.
I hope this information will help you.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
I cannot describe the size of the perforation, but it is much smaller than normal and seems to appear similar to other micro perforate hymens I have seen. The hymen is probably softish but very thick and I had no known infection or injury. I have regular periods.
Thanks.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I would like to know if the blood flow during the menstrual cycle is regular or heavy.

Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
I have good blood flow during my menstrual cycle, but it tends to flow almost up to my back when I am lying down.
Thanks.
Hello,
Glad to have you back at icliniq.com.
It can be assessed that the micro perforate opening on the hymen is present on the back side instead of the middle. It is a congenital condition and is not due to masturbation, infection, or any injuries in the past. It is not a serious condition and can be corrected by minor surgery or it will be cleared by break of hymen during intercourse. As you are having normal blood flow during periods without any pain or recurrent infections, a mild wrinkle look is common.
I hope this information will help you.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
That was very helpful.
I just want to know if there is any difference between the appearance of a micro perforate hymen that is present at birth and one that is caused by injury or infection.
Thanks.
Hello,

I would like to inform you that micro perforate hymen is a congenital condition that can occur from birth and not due to injuries or infection.
I hope this information will help you.
