Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 24 years old. I do not feel like having sex as other girls do. I feel no pleasure. Oral sex works for me, but nothing more than that works. I have never had an orgasm ever in my life. I have had different partners too. But it never happened. I do not know if there is something wrong with me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

My diagnosis would be HSDD (hypoactive sexual desire disorder), loss of libido in women. I suggest the following:

  1. Certain medications may tend to cause sexual side effects. For example, antidepressants such as Paroxetine (Paxil and Pexeva) and Fluoxetine (Prozac and Sarafem) may lower sex drive.
  2. Adding or switching to Bupropion (Aplenzin or Wellbutrin), a different type of antidepressant usually improves sex drive.

Hormone therapy:

  1. Estrogen by pill, patch, spray, or gel can positively affect brain function and mood factors that affect sexual response.
  2. Smaller doses of estrogen in the form of a vaginal cream or a slow-releasing suppository or ring that you place in your vagina can increase blood flow to the vagina and help improve desire without the risks associated with systemic estrogen.
  3. A combination of estrogen and progesterone may also help you.
  4. Male hormones, such as testosterone, play an important role in female sexual function, even though testosterone occurs in much lower amounts in women.

Flibanserin tablet:

  1. Flibanserin is a treatment for low sexual desire in premenopausal women.
  2. A daily pill may boost sex drive in women who experience low sexual desire.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
