Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have a constant stomach ache after taking an I-pill. Also, I have not got my period. What should I do? Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. An I-pill (Levonorgestrel) may be associated with adverse effects, such as abdominal pain, cramps, nausea, tiredness, headache, delayed period, and heavy bleeding in the consecutive cycle due to high progesterone content. You have not provided your last menstrual cycle date. A woman gets her period within one to four weeks after taking the i-pill. So I suggest you wait, and if you do not get your period beyond this phase, a pregnancy test should be done to confirm pregnancy.
I also suggest you take the following medication for your abdominal pain.
1. Tab. Meftal spas (Dicyclomine 10 mg + Mefenamic acid 250 mg).
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
