Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had a dilation and curettage procedure done a few months ago and then had sex the next month. However, he did not ejaculate inside me, but still, to be safer, I had an i-Pill within five hours. I have not yet got my period.
Is there any possibility of pregnancy?
After the procedure, I had bleeding for one day, and then it stopped, and again after two days, it started, and I was having slight bleeding and then spotting for the next two weeks.
Please help.
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
You have taken emergency contraception. That is very good. This will work 99 % of the time, but your period may be delayed. At this point, you do not have to do anything. If the periods are delayed more than a week, you must check for pregnancy. If positive, we have to deal with it then. Either way, it is better to follow some form of reliable birth control to avoid this situation in the future. Also, emergency contraception is for once-a-cycle use only.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
