How to develop a strong immune system?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had a weak immune system for most of my life, and now I am struggling with the HSV virus, likely both type 1 and type 2, which flares up almost every month. When I was pregnant, the outbreaks occurred almost constantly. I also get sick easily and feel weak most of the time.

I have undergone multiple tests, including blood work, intestinal evaluations, genetic polymorphism analysis, and psychological assessments. I have tried anti-parasite therapy combined with probiotics and have been taking the recommended supplements, but my body remains weak, and I still experience frequent herpes outbreaks. Unfortunately, I have not found anyone who has thoroughly examined my case with the attention it needs.

I suspect I might have a problem with interferon, but I am not certain. I have also dealt with the HPV virus in the past. Thankfully, after vitamin injections, ozone therapy, and supplements, my tests now show no traces of HPV. For herpes, I use ozonated olive oil and tanacetum oil as antiviral treatments in capsules, as the usual creams and medications either do not work or irritate my digestive system.

I have a lot of test results and would greatly appreciate it if a specialist could review them and guide me.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I am sorry to hear about your health concerns and the challenges you have been facing. From what you have shared, it seems like focusing on strengthening your immune system could be key to reducing your susceptibility to infections. I would like to offer some general information and suggestions that may be helpful:

  1. Maintain a healthy lifestyle: Focus on a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Regular exercise, adequate sleep, and effective stress management techniques can all contribute to improving your immune function.
  2. Practice good hygiene: Proper hygiene can help prevent the spread of infections. Wash your hands frequently, avoid touching your face, and practice safe sexual habits to reduce the risk of contracting or spreading herpes.
  3. Manage stress: Chronic stress can weaken the immune system. Explore relaxation techniques such as yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercises, or activities and hobbies that bring you joy.
  4. Consider supportive supplements: Certain supplements, like vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, and probiotics, may help boost your immune function. However, consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplements, especially if you have other health conditions or are on medication.
  5. Seek emotional support: Managing chronic health issues can be emotionally taxing. Reach out to friends, family, or a therapist for emotional support to help you navigate this challenging time.

Take care, and I hope you find the right support and treatment to improve your health.

Wishing you all the best on your journey to recovery.
