Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My girlfriend and I had intercourse on the 16th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of this month. However, on the 19th, we missed using protection, and she took an emergency contraceptive pill today, after nine days. She has experienced bleeding and stomach pain today. Her period is due on the 7th of next month. Can you tell me the cause of the bleeding? Is she pregnant? Kindly help.

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern. Firstly, I would like to inform you that, the bleeding can be because of emergency contraceptive pill consumption. Regarding possibility of pregnancy, it cannot be confirmed without missing next cycle periods. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern. Firstly, I would like to inform you that the bleeding cannot be differentiated by just seeing it. It can be withdrawal bleeding almost due to emergency contraceptive pill consumption. And implantation bleeding cannot be identified. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.
