Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 31-year-old female. My blood test reports show some derangements.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

I reviewed your report (attachment removed to protect the patient's privacy). The report shows that you are having low serum iron value and total iron binding capacity is increased. The hemglobin and hematocrit values are low. The peripheral smear examination shows microcytic and hypochromic blood picture. So I think you are having iron deficiency anemia. For your problem you can evaluate underlying cause for that like chronic bleeding, parasite infestation of gastrointestinal tract, nutritional deficiency, etc. Underlying cause should be treated if possible. I would suggest getting serum ferritin, stool routine micro examination, and occult blood test as well. I would suggest taking tablet Ferrous ascorbate that contain elemental iron 100 mg until your serum ferritin and hemoglobin value comes within range. I hope this helps.

Thank you.
