Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 33-year-old male. I had metabolic syndrome. I lost 103 pounds with a low-carb diet and resistance training. My cholesterol and liver enzymes are back to normal now. I had a fatty liver which has also gone. My blood pressure medicine dose is also reduced by my doctor. In my recent blood checkup, I found my iron was 8.1 micromol/L and ferritin was 578 ng/mL. Is there anything serious?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You are a reversal of fatty liver and control of blood pressure is expected after significant weight reduction. Your serum iron is low but hemoglobin is normal and ferritin high. I suggest you to recheck serum iron and ferritin after one month. Rest maintain your nutrition and everything will be okay.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
