Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I just had my period for seven days which is normal for me three days ago. These last three days post period I have still been experiencing cramping and brownish discharge along with occasional red blood mixed in with my discharge. I usually only experience cramping before and during my period and it is really freaking me out. I did take a Plan B around two weeks ago so I am not sure if it is that. I have also been taking some pills to help with my tonsillitis that I had left over but I did not have the full prescription so I have been taking them at an improper dosage. One is Amox-clav and the other I only took once. I am not very sure what the issue is. I am sexually active so I am worried If i am pregnant but seeing as I just had my period I am less inclined to believe that.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

First of all do not worry, as you already got your periods, there is no chance of getting pregnant at all. So I suggest you relax. Bleeding for three days instead of seven days is absolutely normal. Brown discharge and backache seems to be due to some infection there. So here are some instructions I suggest you follow.

  1. Take plenty of water daily.

  2. Clean vagina with vaginal wash regularly.

  3. Put Clingen vaginal tablets (Clindamycin, Clotrimazole, and Tinidazole) inside one per day for three days.

  4. Take a capsule Itraconazole (anti-fungal) 200 mg once per day for three days.

  5. Tablet Zathrin 500 mg (Azithromycin) once per day for three days.

  6. Tablet Meftal (Mefenamic acid) twice a day for three days.

  7. Send me a follow up after three days.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
