Hello doctor,

I am currently having digestive problems for the last six months. I have issues with passing gas frequently, and food does not stay in my stomach whenever I eat; I need to go to the toilet soon to excrete. A few years ago, I had the same problem, and I did an endoscopy twice. Once, it came out that I had a stomach ulcer, and another time about seven years ago, it came out small hiatus hernia, and the doctor gave me a Pantocid L capsule for 30 days. But again, for the last six months, I have had the same problem. What medicine do I need to take?

Please answer.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Based on your history and description, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) is more likely.

IBS is often associated with GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). And both these are associated with stress, anxiety, bad eating habits, alcohol and smoking addiction.

So please let me know. Do you drink alcohol? Do you do smoking? Do you eat more junk food? Are there any stressors in your life?

Please reply to my answers to the above-asked questions so that I can guide you better about medicines and investigations.

I wish you good health.

Thanks.

Hello doctor,

I have been drinking energy drinks and sodas daily for the last ten years. I have been trying to quit them for the last two weeks because of so much harm caused to me by these drinks. I do not drink alcohol, do not smoke, and eat very less junk food. I have been doing the uber driving job for the last five years. Energy drinks gave me stress, and I did not feel relaxed. However, I have been feeling less stressed in the previous two weeks after quitting them.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Your symptoms are because of lifestyle issues only.

No organic cause, mostly. I suggest you try to avoid soda and energy drinks lifelong. Instead, take more curd, yogurt, and buttermilk.

Are you doing any exercise? Walking or cardio or running?

I suggest you take -

  1. Librax (Chlordiazepoxide 5 mg and Clidinium 2.5 mg) tablet twice daily for IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).
  2. Tablets Pantoprazole and Levosulpiride combination twice daily before food.

Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medicine after consulting them.

May I know your diet? Do you take more oily and spicy food? More non-vegetarian foods?

Please reply to me with answers to the above-asked questions so that I can guide you better.

I wish you good health.

Thanks.
