Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had two bottom teeth removed five days ago, and it still hurts from the jawbone to the place where the teeth were removed. I had them extracted as I had an infection, and the tooth was broken, causing recurrent infections. I had taken Amoxicillin at that time. In addition, the gums were swollen. The extracted site has swelled, and my cheek looks like a lump that moves. Despite painkillers, there is pain, and the gum is also starting to close. What to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

Do not worry; it seems like a post-operative infection or delayed tissue healing. Even a food lodgement at the extraction site can delay healing. So, I suggest you to continue your medications for three to five days. Apply ice packs extra orally. Do warm saline rinse every six hours a day for one week. And kindly let me know if you are taking any analgesics, and also let me know if you have any allergies to analgesics.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you out.

Kindly follow up if your symptoms worsen.

Take care.
