Common "Late Conception" queries answered by top doctors | iCliniq

Late Conception

The point in the menstrual cycle at which a woman ovulates may vary on an average between day 12 to 15 of her cycle. But, it may even happen a few days after that due to stress or other factors. If a woman conceives after ovulating late, the calculation of pregnancy date differs widely from the actual age of the baby. Due to this difference, the doctor may be unable to see anything on the scan and the heartbeat of the fetus may not be detectable on the expected ultrasound visit.
