Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am unmarried and I had my period two months ago, and after 10 days of my periods I had sex but the condom got torn in a bad way and it was ejaculated inside so I took an oral contraceptive pill within an hour or two. I consulted one doctor and he suggested that I take the tablet Regestrone (Endometrin) 5 milligrams for three days. Also after a few days, I had protected sex three to four times. Last month I had very little bleeding on the first day of my period and it continued throughout the period. The ratio was, a day's bleeding during a normal period was greater than four days of bleeding. I was having pain in my lower back, in the abdomen, and also in the lower abdomen at that time. After that, I did not have a period. A few days after my period I did a urine pregnancy test and it came negative. Do I need to worry?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

The chance of getting pregnant is nil as you had your periods after the intercourse. The appearance of periods is an indication that there is no pregnancy. As far as the backache is concerned, you can take analgesics like the tablet Diclofenac (Cataflam) 50 milligrams twice a day for five days. Also, get an ultrasound of your lower abdomen done and review the reports to exclude sexually transmitted diseases. Please consult your physician before taking any medications or tests.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

My concern is that the bleeding during the first three days was very less, so I am a bit worried. I can say it was a kind of scanty period. Do I need to do a pregnancy test again?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The chance of pregnancy seems very less. Still, you can take a urine pregnancy test at home for assurance. The appearance of two lines is positive and one pink line is negative.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
