Are there any natural treatment options for my lipomas?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have recently noticed that I have developed lipomas on my body and face. I am concerned about the appearance of these growths and would like to know if they are a cause for medical concern. I would appreciate it if you could provide me with information on the possible causes of lipomas, their symptoms, and whether or not they require medical attention. Additionally, I would like to know if there are any natural remedies or Ayurvedic treatments that can help reduce or eliminate these growths.

Thank you for your time and expertise.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

Lipoma is not of much concern. Lipoma is a benign swelling that happens due to abnormal fat deposition at a localized site. However, they continue to increase in size, usually very slowly. I suggest you do not go for surgery unless,

(1) It is a very large lipoma.

(2) Lipoma has started producing symptoms.

(3) Lipoma looks unsightly and the patient wants to get it removed for better cosmesis.

An excisional biopsy is done and the sample is sent for histopathological evaluation.

Also to answer your concern, there is no medication that helps with lipoma treatment. Surgery is the only way out. If it is not bothering you, I suggest you just live with it. Natural remedies or Ayurvedic medications will not help. I also suggest you do an ultrasound.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
