Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I always get bowl movements in the evening immediately after I drink one or two pegs of whiskey. It has been happening daily for the past 2 or 3 years. The stool floats and dark brown in color. Last night, I got stomach pain and stools are very loose. I have mild fever too and I am now on liquid diet. I am on Telma 80 and Acitrom as I have a clot in my right popliteal artery.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I had gone through all the data posted. As you already said about popliteal artery thrombosis, these people should not drink alcohol and stop smoking immediately. These loose stools are probably due to imbalance in gut bacteria and these things happen with pancreas problem also. So, I suggest tablet Colonise forte (Lactobacillus) one tablet in the afternoon for 7 days and syrup Actozyme two teaspoons twice a day. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and take the medicine with consent. Continue Telma (Telmisartan) and Acitrom (Acenocoumarol). Kindly keep checking PT/INR (prothrombin time/international normalized ratio) as per doctors advice. You need to avoid green leafy vegetables as they decrease the effect of Acitrom.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
