What is the treatment for a painful anal lump at age 26?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 26, male, my height is 5 feet and 35 inches, and my weight is 180 lbs. I am suffering from a small lump the size of a pea and smooth in nature, outside of the anus, and it is paining and bleeding while passing stool for the last 10 days.

Earlier, I did not have that lump, pain, or bleeding. Could you please suggest some medication or a treatment plan?

Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Firstly, I would like to assure you that you do not have to worry because there is always a solution to your problem. Having said that, I would like to let you know that it is very important for a doctor to have the area inspected and examined before concluding, as you have mentioned, the presence of a lump.

Therefore, you need to consult a surgeon in person and allow him to examine you. Do not feel uneasy or worry about it at all.

As of now, use the Smuth (Lidocaine, Calcium Dobesilate, Hydrocortisone, and Zinc) ointment at the anal region. It helps in counteracting the pain and discomfort. Do a sitz bath twice daily. A sitz bath needs filling up of a tub with warm water and mixing in some salt in the water. You need to sit in the water for about 10 minutes twice daily.

These would help ease the pain and fight your problem. Again, I would like to remind you to see a surgeon in person for inspection and treatment. Stay healthy and positive.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.
