Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I started taking contraceptive pills for the first time a year back, followed by the next day. However, I forgot to take my pills on the third day. What to do if I forgot to take contraceptive pills for three consecutive days? Kindly help.

Answered by Dr. Arpit Varshney

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I would suggest:

1) If you miss one pill, take two pills the next day.

2) If you miss two pills (two consecutive days), take two pills the next day and continue the normal cycle thereon.

3) If you miss three pills (three consecutive days), restart the cycle from day one.

I will also suggest not missing a pill, as missing pills can lead to hormonal imbalances and cause problems for you.

Kindly revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
