Hello doctor,
I have been suffering from a skin condition. I have dark spots on my cheeks and chin. I am undergoing frequent facial treatment, but it is not helping.

I have reviewed your pictures (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Based on your description and pictures, you have PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) or melasma.
Melasma is an acquired pigmentation in sun-exposed areas. Areas that receive excessive sun exposure, including the cheeks, the upper lip, the chin, and the forehead, are the most common locations. Melasma can be difficult to treat. The pigment of melasma develops gradually, and resolution is also gradual.
