Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a 30 or 31-day menstrual cycle. My last period was in the middle of the month, and this month I experienced period symptoms on the same date. On that night, I had unprotected sex with my husband (we usually use protection, and this happened after a long time).
However, my period has not come yet for this month. I have tried various home remedies such as sesame seeds, pineapple, papaya, hot and spicy foods, and walking for the past five days, but I still do not have any symptoms of getting my period. I took a test three days after having sex, and it came back negative.
Are there any possibilities of getting pregnant one day before my period? Is it too soon to check for that? How long should I wait before checking again for an accurate result?
Thank you.
Hello,
We welcome you to icliniq family.
I appreciate the confidence you place in me for your healthcare consultation. I understand your concern. Since you had intercourse just a day before your period, it is very unlikely that you are pregnant. Also, your urine pregnancy test came back negative. Get a blood test for pregnancy to ensure that you are not pregnant. The delay could be due to stress, anxiety, work pressure, or hormonal changes. Please get back to me with the reports so that I can guide you further.
Hope this information helps. Thank you.
