Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 19-year-old female. I am really anxious and need honest advice. My periods have been irregular recently. I got my period at the end of the month, and then again in the middle of last month, which was only 16 days later. On the same day, my boyfriend and I did external rubbing, but we were both wearing pants and underwear the entire time. There was no penetration at all.
Each time, semen got attached to his pants, and I also had some vaginal discharge released, but there was no direct contact without clothes. I was not scared at first, but now it has been over a month since my last period after the middle of last month, and I still have not gotten my next period. I have been extremely stressed and crying a lot because I am afraid of pregnancy. I had some thick white discharge, but it has reduced now, and I do not have other symptoms like nausea or breast pain. I would really appreciate honest answers because I am mentally very scared right now. Please tell me,
Could stress or hormonal imbalance cause this kind of delay, especially after having an irregular cycle before?
Has anyone experienced something similar and still not pregnant?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
From the information you have shared, I can see that you got your period two months back and then again in the middle of the last month, which is a cycle gap of about 16 days.
On both these days, you and your boyfriend had external rubbing, but both of you were wearing clothes. There was no penetration, and there was no ejaculation inside the vagina. Because of this, the chance of pregnancy is virtually zero.
Pregnancy cannot occur without penetration and deposition of semen inside the vagina.
And now your periods are delayed. Irregular periods can have multiple causes, with stress and weight gain being the most common. These factors often lead to hormonal imbalances, resulting in menstrual irregularities.
Your vaginal discharge has no link to pregnancy in this situation. If you are still feeling very anxious, the simplest way to get reassurance is:
Do a home pregnancy test. A urine pregnancy test becomes positive 12 to 14 days after the last possible intercourse. It will show positive if you were pregnant, and a negative result will definitely rule out pregnancy.
I hope this information helps you.
