Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My boyfriend has some mood disorder. I am worried about him. I wanted to know if it is common or if he needs treatment.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
Your boyfriend may have a mood disorder. I suggest you take him to your nearest psychiatrist for a detailed evaluation. He may need treatment if it is in severe form. You must ask your boyfriend to stop abusing alcohol or any type of substance like cannabis.
I hope this has helped you.
Thanks and regards.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
He usually suffers from morning irritation and easily gets frustrated with simple things and even gets worried thinking about his past family issues. I saw him crying over this and also he takes drugs to cover up his mood swings. Can I know if this is a diurnal mood variation? So, I wanted to know his stage.
Please help me.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I suggest he stop taking recreational drugs. If he keeps taking abusing recreational drugs then he will not get stable. He may have a diurnal mood disorder but sometimes it may be due to drug withdrawal. I have a few questions.
1. Does he sleep at night?
2. Does he have enough appetite?
3. Does he have suicidal or death wishes?
4. Does he have an angry outburst?
So, I suggest he should follow the instructions mentioned below.
1. He needs to change his lifestyle to deal with his problem. It will help him to deal with his mind swings.
2. He should do exercises daily for 30 to 45 minutes.
3. He should do meditation for 20 minutes daily.
4. He should eat healthy home-cooked foods, and avoid junk foods.
5. He must drink enough water.
6. He should spend quality time with friends and family daily.
7. He should spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills.
8. He should take enough sleep.
9. He must avoid tobacco or any substance abuse.
I hope this has helped you.
Thanks and regards.
