Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My child is 23 months old and stopped breastfeeding at seven months. She has been eating normal food, but we found out she has food allergies, including to milk. She usually falls sick, which results in passing loose, slimy, and offensive stools, sometimes with vomiting. She is not gaining weight, and whenever she falls sick, she loses weight drastically. I am confused and do not know what to do, especially concerning her weight and food.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I am sorry about your medical condition and I am glad that you are paying attention to changes in your body system. Regarding your child's symptoms, I strongly believe she has developed lactose intolerance, which is a condition where she can not tolerate lactose seen in milk, as this causes her diarrhea and weight loss. Please stop giving her cow milk for two weeks and let her take normal homemade meals. I hope this helps. Reply to me if you have more concerns or questions by scheduling a direct appointment or following up via chat, phone, or video consultation.
I hope this helps.
Kindly follow up if you have more concerns.
Thank you.
