Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 22-year-old female, and my boyfriend and I had sex after two years. He did not discharge in my vagina, but I am very worried I missed my period. Usually, my periods come to a specific date every month with a little bit of variation, but this month I missed them.
I cannot take pregnancy tests or take any abortion pills. How to check if I am pregnant or not? He did not ejaculate in my vagina, but due to my fatigue, I think I am at an early stage of pregnancy. No other signs are visible. I never ever skipped my periods.
Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for trusting us with your healthcare. I have reviewed your history and understand your concerns. Based on your symptoms, this could be due to a hormonal imbalance, though pregnancy is also a possibility (the chances are very low).
Since you have missed your period, it may be due to an anovulatory cycle (hormonal changes) or, less likely, pregnancy (if pre-ejaculate contained sperm). I recommend taking a home urine pregnancy test 7 days after your missed period or a blood beta-hCG test now to rule out pregnancy.
If pregnancy is not there, it could be due to a hormonal imbalance, and you can wait and watch for your menses, or you can take progesterone for withdrawal bleeding. Get your thyroid profile and hemoglobin test, also for any hormonal changes.
I hope this helps.
Please revert in case of further queries.
Thank you.
