Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I missed my period for 13 consecutive days today, and I have had my period regularly. I took a test last week, but the results were negative. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Do not be concerned if your pregnancy test is negative within the last day or two. You do not need to do it again. Alternatively, repeat the test to ensure that you are not pregnant. Then, for ten days, take one tablet of either of the birth control pills (21-pill packet) twice a day. (Throw away the 21st tablet) You will have periods within seven to ten days of the last medication, regardless of the cause (excluding pregnancy). Missed periods are not always caused by pregnancy. I believe the likelihood is greatest for PCOD (polycystic ovaries disease). This is a congenital disorder, which means it is a genetically programmed condition that you inherit from your parents. When you gain weight suddenly, this cholesterol is converted into estrogen hormone ( obese men developing breasts and young obese girls developing periods at a younger age - they all have high levels of estrogen hormone or female hormone) In your body as well, when fat, which is a store for tomorrow, is more than usual, this is converted to the hormone which tips the balance between FSH (follicular stimulating hormone) and the ovarian hormone. Obesity, irregular cycles, no periods for a few months, heavy periods with clots and fleshy masses, spotting on and off, thyroid abnormality, and prolactin problems are all related. You gain that extra layer of fat around your midsection, particularly around your waist, thighs, and breast, with no fat beyond your elbows and knees. The symptoms are excessive body hair development, hair loss, a dark shade over the bottom half of the face, acne, greasy facial skin, and black skin over the back of the neck, inner thighs, and under the breast. Diabetes may run in the family, mainly via the father or his family. This will prevent ovulation and you from becoming pregnant until you are cured. It also raises your chances of having an abortion during your first trimester.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
