Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a question regarding a mole or pimple on my lip. I am curious to know what it is. Also, there is a birthmark on my buttock that is quite big. I also have a white point (similar to the mole on the lip, but not soo big) on my labia. I have attached the pictures below. I would like to know if they are harmless. I want to consult you regarding this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. I have gone through the pictures you have shared (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). The lesions on the buttocks look like benign junctional melanocytic nevus, which is a collection of normal melanocytes (cells that produce skin-darkening pigment melanin). So it is completely harmless unless you see any sudden changes, like changes in color, shape, size, surface, etc. Since how long have you had the upper lip lesion? It is difficult to comment on it without physical examination. May I also know more details regarding the white point you are talking about? Is it present on the upper lip? Please give some more details in the follow-up so that I can help you. Take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply. The lesion on my buttocks did not change in the past, but I just wanted an opinion. Since you are assuring that it is harmless, shall I continue to monitor it? I have had the lesion on my upper lip for around one year approximately, it got a little bit bigger in recent months, but it did not change as such in color. It looks a bit strange, and I usually try to hide it. The third lesion I have, is a white spot on the labia (vagina), around 3 mm in size. I never realized it was present until I accidentally discovered it. I am also a bit unsure about it and wanted an opinion. Thank you for your help. Regards.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, the lesion on your buttock looks benign as of now. So just monitor it regularly and look for any sudden change in color, shape, size, or ulceration. As I have already explained, it is difficult to comment on the upper lip lesion without a physical examination. So try to meet a local dermatologist for upper lip and labial (vaginal) lesions and see if a skin biopsy is required to make the diagnosis. You can also reach out to me if you have any other questions. Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
