Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have an MRI report for my right shoulder. I had a car accident and would like to know if the car accident could have caused the injuries that are in the MRI report. I would also like to know how severe the damage is. I had a steroid injection done a week before the MRI was taken. There is only an image file, not dicom files. I made a mistake while loading the MRI report.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The three main findings highlighted in the MRI are,

1) Rotator cuff- there appears to be little evidence of a recent trauma with only an intra substance delamination but no tear. And some bursal fraying as adjacent fluid again degenerative is not traumatic.

2) Acromion and subacromial space findings are degenerative and not traumatic.

3) SLAP lesion mentioned could be traumatic and ideally needs to be confirmed arthroscopically as sometimes anatomical variation may mimic the findings. The symptoms that you have mentioned in the arm do not primarily appear to be coming from the shoulder except for the clicking sensation. Is the click painful or only perceived annoyance. Finally, what was the response been to the injection to the shoulder? Was it given intra articularly or subacromial?

Have you had an MRI of the neck and has there been any improvement of the sensory symptoms in general. Have you tried Pregabalin?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

The pain in the shoulder before the steroid injection was extremely painful. I had to use heat packs all day at work and night during walking and sleeping the pain would be severe. After the steroid injection three days, I felt fine, but the dull ache is still there but at a pain level of three. I cannot lift much with my right arm without it affecting the shoulder. I had an MRI on the neck, and the neurosurgeon said that I have a whiplash injury to the neck. I have attached the MRI of the neck and the ultrasound report of the right shoulder.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Get yourself on Pregabalin as this will help in reducing the pain. Also, please start physiotherapy as this will help to prevent defunctioning of the shoulder muscles.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
