Patient's Query
Hello Doctor,
My age is 30 and I have thyroid issues. I took pills for MTP. This was the first time I conceived. I recently started doing sex and used to have pain during intercourse. I have never taken any type of unwanted pills. I did the pregnancy test three times after four days of missing my periods and it came out positive. I guess four weeks of pregnancy. I took the first tablet of Mifepristone. Then after 24 hours next two tablets of Misoprostol and next two tablets after six hours. I got cramps, acidity, vomiting, and a headache. Started bleeding after five hours overnight but very less and felt pain in the lower abdomen and uterus. The next morning pain is less and also no bleeding. I am worried is abortion done or not since I did not bleed much.
What should I do?
Please guide me.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
You should not have considered a medical method of MTP (medical termination of pregnancy) without confirming the location of the pregnancy. For your information, the pregnancy can be outside the uterus as well, called ectopic pregnancy, and medical MTP do not always work for ectopic.
Please get a transvaginal ultrasound urgently to check for the location of pregnancy first and it shall also tell you about the present state of endometrial activity after taking your pills, whether endometrium was shed or not, or if the decidual reaction is still present or pregnancy is still intact.
Thank you.
