Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My sister was ten weeks and five days pregnant. The fetal heart rate in the fifth-week scan was 148 bpm, but in the tenth week of scanning, no heartbeat was found in the scanning report. The doctor diagnosed missed abortion. Kindly suggest me a solution.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Kindly send me the scanning report so that I can give you a proper diagnosis. I would suggest getting another scanning done by an expert. In case of an absent fetal heartbeat, it could be a miscarriage. You can get urgent intervention either medically or surgically. The medical intervention might turn to surgical intervention if the byproducts of miscarriage do not come after giving medications. Surgical evacuation will be easy after receiving the medicine. Conservative intervention would mean no intervention, but it cannot be prolonged as it can lead to infections.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
