Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 18-year-old female, and I cannot straighten my left leg quickly. It is like the muscle is tangled. I have been experiencing this frequently. Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
It can be acute muscular or due to trauma. For that physical examination is necessary. If swelling is present along with pain and restricted movement, then fracture should be ruled out by digital X-ray.
According to the cause, specific treatments are given. Ibuprofen, like the anti-inflammatory drug, is prescribed if only muscle strain is present. Weight-bearing in that area should be restricted if the fracture is there as per X-ray, and a plaster cast can be applied.
Consult an orthopedic surgeon for examination, and a further management plan is decided accordingly.
Take care.
I hope this will help you.
