Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have had rib pain for two months in the right lower region, and I pass smaller stools than usual, which seems to happen to me often. I had an ultrasound of my abdomen it was normal. I had a pelvic and abdominal CT scan; it was normal. I was wondering what could be the reason for the pain. Kindly help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I think considering your weight; it seems like muscular or bony pain. If it were something related to your tummy, it would have shown on ultrasound or CT (computed tomography) scan of the abdomen. I want to know if you have been given some medications to relieve this pain? It would be more helpful if you could send me a picture encircling the spot where you feel the maximum amount of pain.
I also suggest taking painkiller medications to help you improve this pain;
1) Capsule Tramadol (Tramadol) 100 mg twice daily for pain.
2) Move ointment for local application.
3) Tablet Tizanidine (skeletal muscle relaxant) 2 mg twice daily for pain.
I also suggest getting the following tests done;
1) Serum calcium.
2) Serum vitamin D levels.
3) Liver function tests.
4) X-ray chest AP (anteroposterior) lateral view.
Kindly follow up after the investigations.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thanks for the reply.
I have done a chest X-ray as well. My chest X-ray and liver function test were also normal.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I suggest taking blood tests for serum calcium and vitamin D levels. I also suggest taking the medication as I advised to see if it improve your symptoms. Kindly send me the photo of the X-ray chest if available or send me the snapshot of X ray report.
