Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have some pain on the left side just above my hip bone. It started recently after I finished my period and it has been there for a few days. It is very much uncomfortable and hurts when there is pressure on it.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com. It appears that the pain isn't tied to your menstrual cycle. If the pain is concentrated towards your back, it might be related to muscles. In such cases, a muscle relaxant like Tolperisone 450, taken once daily for five days, could provide relief. On the other hand, if the pain is on the side, it could be a referred pain caused by a ureteric stone. To assess this, you might consider undergoing an x-ray and CT KUB (kidney, ureter, and urinary bladder) scan. However, I'm uncertain if the pain radiates downward. If there's a radiating nature to the pain, it's more likely to have a neurological origin. In that case, further evaluation using an MRI of the spine would be recommended.
