Is surgery must to treat a bent nasal bone?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 25-years-old, and I have a nasal problem. My nasal bone is bent, I have a blocked nose on the left side of my nose, and I have breathing difficulty when I get cold. I am now working in colder regions. Can I survive there with this nasal problem, or do I need to get operated?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Based on what you shared, if you have a persistent nasal block on the left side at all times and if it is affecting your day-to-day activities or if you are getting recurrent sinusitis on the left side, I would suggest you consider getting operated. If there are allergic symptoms like recurrent sneezing in the mornings and itchy eyes and nose, we can try conservative medical management for the same. Best regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
