Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I just got my routine blood work back, and I am sincerely afraid. Some of these numbers are scaring me. Carbon dioxide 32. Platelets 378. MCHC 30.9 Abs monocytes .75. Are these numbers something to be concerned about? What happens next? I have a doctor phobia, and this makes me nauseous.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand that this is a very scary period for all of us. I can completely feel your fear with lab number. However, to my understanding, these numbers indeed look normal or close to normal (if you attach the copy of the report, I can relook them again for you).

Do not worry about Carbon dioxide. It varies a lot, and if you are feeling fine and not really vomiting then, no issues at all. Platelet, MCHC, and monocyte, as I said, looks very close to normal or mere normal.

Of course, you had a recent COVID infection, and your body is recovering from that. Your fear is more so because of the stress you went through than the lab numbers.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have a phobia that has followed me since a near-death experience giving birth. I am relieved and will feel better speaking to the doctor tomorrow via video. My laboratories are on paper and unable to be attached. I will certainly follow up with you tomorrow.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

This is very nervous time. But soon, all will be better, hopefully. I am sure your PCP will be there to answer most of the queries.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
