Hi doctor,

I have pain, inflammation, tingling sensation, and numbness that spreads from my fingers to my left shoulder. Sometimes, my neck hurts badly, making it hard to move and breathe. In my chest and below my left boob, I also get pain. Sometimes, my left arm gives out, and I cannot control it. Also, this pain has been going on for about five years. I went to my doctor, but he kept giving me the run-around. It also hurts when I lift my left arm over my head. When I am lifting objects, my fingers are a certain way. It always cracks whenever I move it, and it only brings more pain. It usually calms down when I put my right hand over my left shoulder, but that hardly ever works. I am a 21-year-old female. I am not taking any medication now and would appreciate any help.

Please help and thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concerns.

From what you mentioned, I am afraid that cervical neck prolapse is a possibility (compression on the nerve roots supplying the left arm). MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) of the cervical spine is required after consulting your treating physician.

Please provide me with more details:

Have you experienced any trauma or lifted heavy objects? Is it getting worse over the mentioned period?

My advice: After consulting the prescribing physician,

1. Use Deep Heat cream (Methyl salicylate and Menthol) thrice per day.

2. Take tablet Pregabalin 100 mg once daily at night for three weeks for pain and numbness.

Thanks.

Wish you all well-being.

Your feedback will be appreciated.
