Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having pain at my back neck since morning and could not even move my neck. Two years ago I had same, MRI showed disc bulge at C3-C4 and C6-C7 is causing thecal indentation. Central disc protrusion at C4-C5 and C5-C6 is causing thecal indentation.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Looking into your problem you had chronic neck pain I should say and you are struggling with it for a long time ( two years). MRI from the past (attachment removed to protect patient identity) is showing that there is a problem from C3/4/5/6/7 but the major level that is producing pressure symptoms in your spinal nerve is C4-5 and 5-6 has central disc protrusion. I would love to see that film that gives us a real guide on how to produce and plan for surgical treatment. The best option is Endoscopic cervical discectomy at two levels 4/5 and 5/6 and if either goes ACDF (anterior cervical discectomy and fusion). But today you got again back pain and spasm of neck muscle. Meanwhile, I would suggest taking muscle relaxants and neuroleptic drugs, and cervical traction. You can do cervical traction at home and every day do cervical traction exercises which will prevent spasms of neck muscles.

I suggest you take the following medications-

1. Capsules Gabapentin Actavis 300 mg, PO, after food twice daily for one week.

2. Tablet Chlorzoxazone 500 mg three times a day for one week.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
