Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 23-year-old male with a weight of 115 kilograms and a height of 6.1" feet. I am suffering with the problem of frequent wet dreams. I am currently not on any medication. I do not smoke or take any type of drugs.

Please help me find a solution to this problem.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understood your concern.

Wet dreams or nightfall known as nocturnal emission is completely normal. It can be caused due to increased erotic stimulus mentally, physically or visually without sex or masturbation. You are young and have high testosterone levels and a good sperm production (approximately 20000 sperms per minute) which leads to a lot of semen production. This semen has to come out either by masturbation or sex or else it will come out naturally while you are in a relaxed state (asleep). Reducing the erotic stimulus is the solution to your problem.

There are different ways to reduce the frequency of the erotic stimulus -

  1. Limit the intake of caffeinated beverages and foods in the evening and at night time. Consuming caffeine before bedtime can stimulate the brain and cause erotic dreams.
  2. Take a cold shower before bedtime. This decreases excessive sensitivity in the genital region.
  3. Limit and control your stress levels. Stress can be a triggering factor to anything and everything. Hence to obtain a peaceful night’s sleep keeping a check on your stress levels is necessary
  4. Avoid sleeping on your back or stomach. These positions are known to cause sleep orgasms. Better sleep on your side.
  5. Exercise regularly and keep your body and mind relaxed. Excessive tension or anxiety and fatigue together elevate your chances of sleep orgasms.
  6. Avoid watching and reading erotic content at night. These stimulate both your body and mind and result in wet dreams while you are asleep. You can try taking the tablet Pari (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) 10 milligrams every night for 15 days for temporary relief. It will also help with premature ejaculation.

I hope this has helped you out.

Thanks and regards.
