Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
Half the world has a fatty liver. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is as common as high blood pressure. It is not good but not dangerous as long as you do not have signs of inflammation or non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
Your total cholesterol is just 238 mg/dL, and the lipids and blood sugar levels look fine. When I attended medical school, the limit for cholesterol was still 300 mg/dL. Every second adult patient I see has cholesterol in the 200s. I have worse values without being overweight. So, do not worry. You do not have any no metabolic syndrome.
There is a genetic predisposition for fatty liver. My suggestions for you are-
1. Taking vitamin E is good, but it must be natural vitamin E (RRR-alpha-Tocopherol). The other similar chemical compounds do not help the liver.
2. Losing weight may lower your liver enzymes, but a diet with less than 1200 calories in 24 hours might even worsen a fatty liver. It is unknown why it happens. A medical mystery that waits to be solved by science.
To sum it up-
1) A slow diet might help your liver. Obesity can cause fatty liver with the right genetic predisposition.
2) NAFLD is not dangerous if you do not show signs of metabolic syndrome in ultrasound (sonography). There are no signs of NASH in your ultrasound presently. You are one of the millions of people with a fatty liver.
3) I have no idea why they rejected your medical certificate on this basis? They seem to have no clue.
4) See it as a “sign” not to go to that country. Do not torture your body for them. Have a very careful 2000 calories per day diet, lose some weight, take the correct vitamine E (and maybe some OMEGA 3 fatty acid supplements), and strictly avoid Tylenol, Acetaminophen, or Paracetamol as it is toxic to the liver.
I am here for you if you need me.
Thank you.
