Experiencing norovirus while undergoing chemotherapy is incredibly distressing. I am currently on day eight of my second round of chemotherapy for breast cancer and have unfortunately contracted this severe stomach virus.

I have been suffering from intense vomiting and diarrhea for a continuous 24 hours, making it impossible to retain any medications, including those for nausea. The chemotherapy has already left me neutropenic, with my white blood cell count recorded at 1.8 during my last evaluation.

Despite taking Tylenol (Acetaminophen, a drug that reduces fever), I am experiencing a fever of 101.5 degrees Fahrenheit.

My oncologist advised that I should go to the emergency room if my fever exceeds 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, but I am apprehensive about the risk of acquiring a more serious infection there.
