Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a 8-year-old daughter. Since birth, she has had a V split on her forehead, and we can feel a gap when touched. She has nosebleeds through her nose and throat. And also, she has redness between her eyebrows. I have asked a few doctors regarding this, they said is nothing to worry about. A few days ago, she had a little bump on her forehead, unsure if it is swelling.
Thanks.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Kindly answer me the following to help you better;
1) Does she have a fever or headache?
2)Does she feel pain when she bends over or when you press on this bump?
A nosebleed is normal in children due to a fragile nasal mucosa. However, I would recommend performing a sinus x-ray study or a sinus endoscopy to exclude a sinus infection, especially if she has pain in this region.
I hope you will find this information helpful.
Kind regards.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
She is active, but sometimes she complains of headaches in that area. I will go to her doctor tomorrow to show the bump, and I will let them know your suggestion. I was told not to be concerned, but when she bleeds, it is not just fluid blood; there are some blood clots.
Thank you very much.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Nose bleeding in children is quite common and not concerning because of a fragile nasal mucosa. The headaches in this region could be sinus headaches, especially when the atmospheric pressure changes.
A sinus x-ray study would help determine this.
I hope you will find this information helpful.
Kind regards.
